Trailer for "The Post"

"Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post’s Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light."
One wonders what impact the current Paradise Papers revelation will have compared to the Pentagon Papers.

  1. Unlikely they will have that much impact- particularly compared to the Pentagon Papers. It surprises no one that politicos worldwide hide their money, and people today actually have problems connecting the most simplest of dots, eg- America has a very real problem when it comes to employment opportunities with meaningful wages, and they chose to solve it by electing a proven con man who has made an entire career of stiffing working class stiffs...

  2. I'm a conservative fellow. Most of my votes have been in support of the Republican ticket. But every president that played this game in Vietnam is guilty of MURDER. Not only did our own men and women die because of it, but no doubt countless enemy soldiers. All of these, our side and their side, might have lived to become friends, to discover some great invention that would have benefited the world. But no, elections had to be won--and you couldn't do that by looking week, right?

I often ask my history classes "What died on the battlefield that day?" Eventually, I tell them that it may be that the cure to cancer (perhaps the grandson of one of dead soldiers, had he lived) died there.

Most of the guys on the ground NEVER get the REAL story for why we are fighting. The truth is changed around so that the other side always looks like the devil incarnate...and then we unleash our boys to kill...and be killed.
