Yes, "jawed balls" is the name for this, and yes, it happens often
enough that there are official rules to handle jawed balls in billiards. Typically, the rule is to see if the balls are more over the pocket
or more over the table. Over the pocket counts as pocketing the ball;
over the table sees the ball in question put back on the table. Here,
looks like a scratch with the five-ball pocketed as well.

Many people play saying pocketed balls come back out on a scratch. So they would end up with nothing from this lay.
