Screw fastened shoes

I remember years ago digging through an old dump looking for bottles and finding shoe soles with the nails protruding.  I didn't know until today that some shoes used screws to attach the sole to the upper.

  1. Some high-end wildland fire boots still have the soles screwed on, presumably because glue will melt. The Nick's HotShot boots and the White's SmokeJumpers are two examples.

  2. Shoes aside....what kind of bottles were you looking for? I have a small collection of poison bottles

    1. I wasn't actually hunting for any specific kind of bottle. I found an old (1920s) dump in the woods and was looking for treasure in general; did find some old medicine bottles.
