An aerial brush hog

"Our pilots operate our helicopter mounted saw with pinpoint accuracy. The aerial saw is powered by a compact fuel injected engine, with low emission operations and is able to side-trim a 20' path of vegetation an average three miles per day (both sides)."

  2. Is it just me--or does the pilot look a lot like Keven Spacey?

  3. Sooo like Kevin Spacey - I half-read the article and just assumed it was about him being a celebrity that pilots in his spare time!

  4. I really have my doubts here. One bad, stray gust of wind and you've cut into 20,000 volts (or whatever they're running on those lines).

  5. surely a big SUV with a rig attached could do the job for a lot less cost. Choppers and chopper pilots are not cheap. An SUV could cover this terrain and do it with less wind complications.

  7. Here's a few variation on 'really scary jobs you can do with a small helicopter': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tzga6qAaBA&feature=player_embedded

My father is a pilot who flew many jobs with this type of helicopter, and has threaded tow cables for high voltage lines, just like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ia6FNK0D50
