That's a great video to show whenever someone tells you the evil car industry doesn't innovate, cars are always just getting heavier and bigger and fuel consumption is ignored.
Don't quote me on this(ha ha) but it is my understanding that the Chevy was not a complete vehicle in any way. In fact it was an incomplete derelict missing much of the structure that would have given it the needed strength.
It is marvelous how far engineering has come in terms of safety. Bravo.

Pretty sure the "auto industry" was dragged screaming & kicking toward safer cars.

ReplyDeleteI had one of them Chevys back in the '60s: blue, station wagon. Took me to a lot of powwows.
