This is the another reason I will be doing limited blogging for the next couple weeks. Butterflies will be coming out of hibernation and will be migrating into the state. The first ones should appear this coming week (none yet reported in Wisconsin - they're way behind schedule this year because of the prolonged winter).

Papilio canadensis) feasting on a dead carp in Ontario. This "puddling" behavior allows them to harvest essential nutrients not available from floral sources.
