Why someone with healthy eyes would risk their eyesight for appearance is beyond me.
That is disgusting. When they go blind, they'll have earned it.
If I had that much filth under my fingernails, i don't think I'd be poking and pulling at my eyes like that. Looking for a case of pinkeye, I'd say. (no pun intended)
Contacts come in all sorts of configurations. One of my Goth students had red snake eyes. Much more sensible than tattooing your eyes, IMHO.
