"Marionettes of Pilsner"

A 1929 photograph by André Kertész.  The female marionette is surprisingly... accurate.  Perhaps it was not for children's entertainment, or perhaps the standards of the time and place were just different.

Found at Miss Folly.

  1. I've always found marionettes - especially the more lifelike ones - to be a skin-crawling mixture of creepy and sad. This photo perfectly illustrates why.
