Giant pants of the 1930s

There is an entire tumblr devoted to "giant pants" worn in that era.

  1. Strangely enough, these don't look THAT disproportionate. Perhaps because the model actually has some meat on her bones as opposed to the emaciated near-skeletons that model clothing today. Just sayin'

  2. I really must wear my glasses - I read that as Giant Pandas.

They look like the trousers that go with the infamous Zoot Suit. Infamous? Never heard of the Zoot Suit Riots? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoot_Suit_Riots

  4. I had some of those in high school. JNCO, if I'm not mistaken.

  5. I had some of these in the '90s. I loved them. You can almost always find a nice pair of palazzo pants (that's what I've always heard them called), but sometimes they're more popular than others.
