Objects inserted "where the sun doesn't shine"

Florida's Sun Sentinel annually posts a searchable database of emergency room visits compiled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.   Deadspin offers the following examples of "insertions showcasing extraordinarily bad luck and/or ingenuity" -

Potpourri bead
Christmas ornament
Tip of ski pole
Plastic fishing worm
Stuffing from stuffed teddy bear
Dog toy
"Part of a tissue or a fuzzy part of my blanket"
Fish hook
Ice cream scoop
Ball of yarn with knitting needle
Action figure
Needle nose pliers

These were found in six different bodily orifices.  You'll never know which was found where without visiting one of the links (although you can certainly live a fulfilling life without that knowledge).

  2. Oh, my son is probably on that list! When he was 4 years old, he wanted to take his beloved blankie on vacation with him, but was afraid to lose it. So he pulled a string off of the blanket and tucked it into his ear for safe keeping (unbeknownst to his parents...) After a week of swimming in Lake Huron, his ear canal was a red, festering mess. Only after the ER staff had a good look did he come clean about his "ear blankie"...

A few years later he put a sea shell up his nose, apparently to impress a girl.
She was not impressed. Neither was I. Nor was the ER staff (again).
