Half dachshund, half golden retriever

A Reddit thread discusses this dog with unusual mixed breeding and whether he is adopting this curious posture in order to relieve lower back pain.

  1. My golden often adopts this same position, sometimes for fairly long periods, like a few minutes. Then she yawns and moves on.

  4. The three Goldens (two purebreds and one mix) in my life are/were all experts in the art of relaxation. The youngest, Dickens, is working on his master's degree in chillin'.

  6. Same here, my Golden Dox does that often - and since he was a puppy. Highly doubt it has to do with lower-back pain (or any other kind of pain, for that matter). I really think that he's just soooo long, that once he gets his front paws down, he thinks he's already there! Or he just likes the feeling of his ass being supported, lol...
