"France is bacon" explained

Discussed at Reddit (the thread has other examples of mondegreens*).  Via this isn't happiness.

*and if you like mondegreens, listen to Stevie Nicks, whose "Edge of Seventeen" got its title because of one, via Tom Petty's wife.

  2. "Cheese is Christ" has been a running joke in my family for years.

And a character on one of my favorite shows mocks his son for one, which I can't remember. His wife retorts that he used to think it was "Our father who art in heaven, Howard be thy name."

  6. I loved the (Shanahan?) cartoon from the New Yorker some years ago. It showed the Three Wise Men worshipping the Baby Cheeses, with a little pile of Babybel cheese in the manger. Absolutely made my Holiday season!

  7. I don't think it's podcast due to licensing issues, but Randy Bachman's CBC radio show "Vinyl Tap" did 2 fantastic and absolutely HILARIOUS shows on musical mondegreens. If you can locate them anywhere, they're definitely worth listening to.
