American meat consumption

Data from the U. S. Department of Agriculture, graphed for the New York Times.  In my lifetime, total meat/egg consumption has risen from about 182 pounds/year to about 232 pounds/year.  There are some interesting trends in the graph (click for bigger).

  1. It's a pity so few meats are commonly enjoyed as Duck, Lamb, Goat and Rabbit are pretty darned yummy.
