TSA screening

With a twist...
The only bad thing on our trip was TSA was at the Savannah train station. There were about 14 agents pulling people inside the building and coralling everyone in a roped area AFTER you got OFF THE TRAIN! This made no sense!!! Poor family in front of us! 9 year old getting patted down and wanded. They groped our people too and were very unprofessional. I am all about security, but when have you ever been harassed and felt up getting OFF a plane? Shouldn't they be doing that getting ON???

  1. I clicked on the video hoping "with a twist" meant there was a joke involved but instead of feeling amused, I feel dismayed. Searching people for the act of exiting a train? I'm afraid I would be cowed into complying and and I am afraid it prepares us for future, random searches without reason or warrants.

  2. So much for the 'just don't fly' argument. Although I've heard of them doing 'security' for courthouses, so that argument really never worked anyway.

Remind me again how they think this doesn't violate the fourth amendment?

  3. Hate to get all conspiracy theory, but... the only logical rationale for a post-trip check is desensitization...

@Mel Anywhere within 100 miles of any US border has the 4th amendment suspended anyway (that includes 100 miles of any international airport).

Sorry Florida: you get Constitution Lite, now with 0% search and seizure restrictions!

  4. Well, the twist makes it only marginally more stupid than normal TSA.

I'm not so sure about the "I am all about security, but when have you ever been harassed and felt up getting OFF a plane? Shouldn't they be doing that getting ON???"

How about NOT harassing and feeling up people?

  6. The gov't is teaching our kids exactly what it wants:
    1. Fear authority
    2. Submit to authority
    3. Do Not Question authority
    4. Not doing the above is unpatriotic

    Any more questions?
