"Destroyed cotton" t-shirt

Fashionable.  And expensive.  Discussed at Reddit (twice).

I'm setting this image into an interesting juxtaposition with the one in the post below this, of refugee children living in a slum.

  1. Oh crap. I just put a shirt like that into my dust-cloth bin. Think I should pull it out and wear it some more?

  2. I'm starring at this and wondering if this is the fashion equivilent of "Found Art": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Found_art

  3. Wow. That is an interesting contrast with the refugees. It's ironic that the refugee girls look happier and healthier than the model!

I like how the shirt's torn, but otherwise perfectly clean and shows no signs of wear. I guess even when you're wearing garbage, there has to be a way to show that you spent a lot of money to look like this. Heaven forbid anyone think you're *actually* wearing rags.

  5. An excellent demonstration of the fashion industry as a mechanism for taking money away from those who should not have had it in the first place.
