Cab Calloway and the Nicholas Brothers

From the 1943 movie "Stormy Weather."  The dancing begins at 1:30.

  1. Huh. Most dance I've seen from that era would have the dancers moving in exact unison with no room for personal style. I really like that they're moving with more freedom - although the sound is even enough that I'm sure the taps were recorded separately!

  2. Gosh, this music is the same as today's. Even the dress is just as neat as I see on the young men nowadays. This brings back a thought that I have had for many years that I was born about 20 years too late, and, way too poor.

  3. I watch this video every once in awhile just to be reminded of what the human body can do at the extreme. I read a quote, I think by Gregory Hines, that if there was a biography made of the Nicholas Brothers it would have to be CGI because no one can do their moves.
