FunGals are children's underwear intended for young girls that is a developmental stepping stone between training pants and adult female undergarments. They are inspired by Saturday morning cartoons and movies intended for a young female audience. Examples of licenses used include Bananas in Pyjamas, Teletubbies, Scooby Doo, Dora the Explorer, and SpongeBob SquarePants. The male equivalent of FunGals (for young boys) are called Funpals...I would nominate them for Worst Product Name Ever. One wonders if it was done on purpose.

"Fungal" (one word, lower-case letter "G") is an adjective describing infection with a fungus.
One common fungus is Candida albicans, commonly called "yeast," which has a propensity to grow in the area of the female genitalia.
