There are no scratches like this on our door

‘Exploding Hand’ by Lee Miller, 1930 (thousands of scratches of society females’ diamond rings on a perfume shop’s glass door).

Photo found at Magpie's Nest.

  1. I have always liked wear like this. The way that keys scuff the wood around deadbolt locks. I also like it when you can identify two (or more) different wear patters based on the use by different individuals.

  2. The keyhole locks on car doors used to have a lot more scratches around them. Now Keyless entry has reduced these significantly.
