Sunspot

  1. This observatory is not too far from us.
    It is located on a man-made peninsula that juts pretty far out into the lake. The water acts as a stable temperature background to prevent heat waves from the ground rising up and distorting the image.
    It's a very busy lake, people boat, water ski, fish, and what have you, on that lake.
    I knew that it was a pretty important observatory, but I didn't realize it held such a high status.
