Perhaps someone knows why the stockings had buttons in back... was it just to "show a little leg" or just to be different? These are reportedly from the 1920s, according to My Vintage Vogue, via Sloth Unleashed.
I'm guessing that's a fashion statement on that particular pair. Instead of having a seam, it had buttons.
I want to know if the woman wearing those shoes really thought they looked good on her when they were so very, very too small. They probably hurt way too much, too!
