Rural Edwardian England

A photo of Corsham, Hudswell (in the Cotswolds) in 1907.  In another life I would have like to have lived here.  I can just imagine Miss Marple walking along this road a few decades later...

Found at Edwarding Era.

  1. I can imagine Mistress Jane Marple frolicking along these lanes as a small child, observing and learning about how people thought and behaved. Why, who knows, she would probably remember these early insights and apply them in her later life as a detective.

  2. BTW, Geraldine McEwan is my favorite Miss Marple. How about y'all?

    That's one of many.

  5. Trust me, you really wouldn't like to live there. They look cute, but were damp, dark hovels with mold growing up the walls.

  6. I am fortunate enough to live here! It's truly beautiful and hasn't changed much at all, although we do have central heating now!
