"Ignorent peopl"

I'll pass over "Painting Nails" as an "activity" and "Milk and Cereal" as an interest, and I won't criticize her choices of favorite music, but when her entry under favorite books is "Fuck That Shit," it reflects rather badly on her rant about "ignorent peopl."

  1. "It is the best of times, it is the worst of times; it is the age of wisdom, it is the age of foolishness; it is the epoch of belief, it is the epoch of incredulity; it is the season of Light, it is the season of Darkness; it is the spring of hope, it is the winter of despair; we have everything before us, we have nothing before us; we are all going directly to Heaven, we are all going the other way."

  2. And yet, her vote counts every bit as much as that of a constitutional scholar.
As admirable as democracy is, it's instances like these that make one long for Aristotle's government of the educated class.
Personally, I find the movement of know-nothing politicians detestable, from the original of the 1840s on up to the moderns.
I remember, though I was quite young at the time, seeing a statistic during George W. Bush's reign that he was the president with which people most would like to drink a beer. I remember, though I was again quite young, thinking, "I don't want to have a beer with him. I want him to run the damn country."
I find it refreshing that we now have a president who is more qualified to discuss constitutional history and legal theory than to drink a beer, although he seems to do that well. I find it depressing that so many people seem to view that as a regression.

  3. I wish she had offered some examples of how he messed everything up in this country. I wanted to say something very smart about this but I read it and now I feel Dumb:(
