The Final Sentence

"I took her hand in mine, and we went out of the ruined place; and as the morning mists had risen long ago when I first left the forge, so the evening mists were now, and in all the broad expanse of tranquil light they showed to me, I saw no shadow of another parting from her."

Probably a third of TYWKIWDBI readers will know the source of that closing passage from a famous novel.  Another third won't care.  And the final third will rack their memories - and will find the answer at The Final Sentence, which has assembled hundreds of such closing sentences/paragraphs.  A fun browse for bibliophiles.
