Azurite

A gorgeous nummular-shaped specimen embedded in a matrix of kaolinized siltstone.  From the Malbunka Copper Mine, Areyonga, Alice Springs, Gardiner Range, Northern Territory, Australia.

  1. Lovely! So it's not a cobalt button, "rusting"? What was that word? You could pass this off as an old Roman coin or something. Or is an azurite crystal rarer?

    I really like the trillium(?) in your header, too.
