Trail bike ride
When I first viewed this video, I was reminded of my previous posts about uber-scary hikes at Mt. Huashan and at El Caminito del Rey. The difference in this video, of course, is the bike. As a lifelong hiker, I have a certain degree of aversion to those who abuse foot trails with motorized transport - especially the ATVs that braid trails and disrupt wetlands.
The trail itself is spectacular, and it appears to have been subject to extensive repair and maintenance work over probably decades (or centuries?) of use. Can anyone offer a suggestion re the location? Are there any clues from the audio?
The one guy says at 1:30ish that the way leads to the Torazio or Torrazzo or something. There is a village in Italy called Torrazzo, but the way he says it makes me think he is talking about a river or a mountain.
The rest of the conversation is about the trail and as you might have already noticed the biker in the back is rather sceptical ...
Ridden my bicycle on trails that looked like this in Italia in the late 90s. I was surprised they didn't run into a a 50 year old woman walking on this trail in heels and a purse... so I know they were not doing it on a Saturday or Sunday!
These guys are from Germany, but I don't think the location is. Might be somewhere in Spain or Italy. There is no clue in the audio.

Thank you. I thought the landscape might be Spain, but perhaps it is Italy. Doesn't really matter, but I was curious.

ReplyDeleteThe infernal internal combustion engine erodes and corrodes the view.
ReplyDeleteI would say close to Monte Torragio in Italy.
ReplyDeleteI found a photo of Monte Torragio -

Could be that area...
I am not sure how to send you an email separate from a posting so forgive the fact that this "tip" is kind of unrelated to this item.
ReplyDeleteI saw this today and thought you might find it interesting as you sometimes post clever and interesting design ideas.
