When your college's name is "Jesus"

Founded in 1571 by Elizabeth I, who certainly never envisioned the college participating in a quiz bowl.

  1. During Thatchers government when minister of education Keith Joseph was bringing forward new funding I think think they chanted "Jesus says no to Joseph"

  2. A friend of mine attended King's College, Cambridge. he custom was to refer to a college simply by its shortened name, eg, King's, Merton, etc. On Christmas morning, he telephoned Jesus College; when the bursar answered, he asked, "Is that Jesus?", and on being told that it was, sang "Happy Birthday".

  3. Jesus Waterson! Hilarious.

Reminds me of the classic University Challenge "Young Ones" episode with Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, and Emma Thompson as guests.
