Pachelbel's Greatest Hit (the Canon in D)
"Pachelbel's celebrated "Canon in D," performed by Voices of Music, overlaid with a scrolling graphical score."
"The group is called Voices of Music; the performers in this piece are Katherine Kyme, Carla Moore and Cynthia Miller Freivogel, baroque violin, Tanya Tomkins, baroque violoncello, Hanneke van Proosdij, baroque organ, and David Tayler, theorbo."
Didn't know what a "theorbo" was? - neither did I. You learn something every day.
John Popper of Blues Traveler considers Canon in D to be the perfect piece of music, and used it's progression as the base for the song Hook. For me, Canon in D makes my heart soar, and I may just have to agree with Mr. Popper.
Nice post. Reminded me of this hilarious video. Don't know if you've come across it before, it got passed around a few years back.
