Bouncing water droplets revealed by slow-motion

  1. I think it's slightly misleading to infer that raindrops look like this at high speed. I highly doubt raindrops react the same way, since they are falling with a much greater velocity. These water droplets are release no more than a couple centimeters from the surface. The molecular interactions should be quite different. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but it would be more convincing if they showed droplets falling from from higher up. Either way, it's still a rather impressive video.

  2. I suspect you're correct and that the raindrop analogy is more lyrical than scientific.

  3. In fact, after thinking it over further, I decided to change the title.
