An interesting accident

A brief comment at the source says "strong wind blast caused it." Via Titam.

  1. I think the only wind there is stems from the "source".

  2. Unlikely that wind was a cause or even contributing factor to this incident. This actually occurs quite often, and is usually due to the driver parking on uneven or excessively soft terrain before dumping.

Think about it, you're shifting the balance to the rear wheels while simultaneously raising the center of gravity. More weight distributed over the rear wheels, the right side starts to sink in, the high center of gravity keeps things moving, and BOOM.

  3. Those trees in the background don't show evidence of any particularly strong gusts of wind.

  4. It's not dramatic, but the third tree does shake during the fall, and as the truck falls the sand/dust in the air is quickly blown toward the right.
