Horrendous crime

Byrd and Melanie Billings had 16 children - three of their own and 13 adopted. The adopted children were special needs children with developmental disabilities, Downs syndrome, autism, and other problems. Last week they were shot to death in their home in front of their children.
Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot to death in their home near Pensacola last week by several intruders caught on surveillance cameras as they entered from the front and rear and left within 10 minutes. Seven men, including day laborers and an Air Force staff sergeant, are jailed in the case on charges including murder.

Authorities have said the suspects, some dressed as ninjas, stole a safe and other items during the break-in Thursday. Nine of the couple's 13 adopted children were home at the time. Three saw the intruders but were not hurt.
I would consider it appropriate to appoint a special prosecutor for this case:

  1. I couldn't help chuckling at the picture of your "special prosecutor". And while I find the crime horrendous, I still would rather have the perpetrators locked away for life in prison.

  2. I don't particularly want to contribute to the taxes that would keep them alive in prisons... unless they were locked up with someone with Tourettes and their barber had Parkinsons and a straight razor.
