Lightning?


Or weaponry, but presumably the former. It seems unusual that lightning wouldn't travel down the pole. Perhaps the pole has dried out and become nonconductive?

  1. Lightning started a fire in the dry wood probably by burning the ground wire up. Ground wires are typically ran from the top of the pole to an 8 foot rod driven into the ground to discharge static and lightning strikes.
