In the news today because it was involved in a mid-ocean crash with its French counterpart. This is the photograph featured in the BBC article.

I'm sure the design absolutely maximizes hydrodynamic efficiency and minimizes radar reflectivity, but it looks for all the world like a phallic symbol or a monodigital salute.

Perhaps those symbolic analogies are inherent in nuclear submarines.
