Trailer for the new Pixar film - "Up"

Embedded above is the two-minute teaser trailer in YouTube quality. You can view it in higher definition full-screen at this link, but for such a short trailer it probably doesn't make a big difference.

Typical (excellent) Pixar animation, with voices by Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger. It will also be 3-D (re projection, not re modeling etc). Release date not for 6 more months.

Update: I wrote the above months ago. Today there's a report at the Guardian that Wall Street analysts are crucifying Pixar because the movie is not commercial enough. The central character is an old man that kids might not relate to, and there aren't enough obvious toy-related tie-ins:
...there was widespread concern that Pixar was on a downward spiral in commercial terms. "The worries keep coming despite Pixar's track record, because each film it delivers seems to be less commercial than the last," he said... "We doubt younger boys will be that excited by the main character."

There are also concerns from toy-makers that Up will prove a downer. Thinkway Toys, whose range of products related to Pixar's 2006 film Cars helped the film to a merchandise sales record of $5bn, is not creating a single toy based on the new movie. Disney stores will offer only limited merchandise to promote Up.

Disney chief executive, Robert A Iger, said the company was focused on delivering "great films", rather than adopting a blind adherence to commercial pressures.
