30 famous "conspiracy theories"

Pictured above the "Philadelphia Experiment." The others are presented in thumbnail sketches at the Telegraph (U.K.) Some of the ones in the list are obviously mindless paranoia, others are probably true*... You can decide for youself which are which. I'll blog more on some of these topics in the year ahead.

*Shakespeare authorship, for example

  1. What a load of hooey. And I'm not just talking about the conspiracies presented, but the liberally biased scientifically inaccurate crap their were spieling there. Chemtrails? The FODDER of Right-Wing Radio in America? Give me a fricking break! Thats the Brits for ya.

  2. I think the philledelphia expirement ( excuse my spelling) was a reall thing....that really happend. People dont want to believe it because its out of their ordinary. IF they were actually to believe this then that would mean stepping away from the safe and secure lives that the gov has provided for us and venturing out into the unknown parts of the world where too much knowledge is unsafe.
Thats my opinion on all of this.

  3. Brian - I see you're far too intelligent to be fooled by any loony-bin conspiracy theory, so you should do well on this gullibility test. Let us all know how you made out. Good luck!!

  4. Marianne -

Thank you. My score was 82.

    "Your GF score is 82.
    (Out of a range of 0 - 100, where 0 = mind slave, and 100 = free thinker.)"

That puts me in the top 5% As your web test put it:

"Welcome to the top 5%. You're a true free thinker and a person who is well informed about the reality in which you live. Although you may have been easily manipulated earlier in life, you eventually gained lucidity and developed a healthy sense of skepticism that you now automatically apply to your observations and experiences. You are endlessly curious about human behavior and the nature of the universe, and you have one or more lifestyle habits that most people would consider odd or unusual. You are not only of very high intelligence, you are also extremely creative in one or more areas (music, art, software development, inventing, etc.) "

  5. It's a paradox that someone who readily accepts the word of government and its managed media, could co-exist as a nonconformist and free thinker. Any skepticism you harbor Brian is clearly of the misplaced, and therefore 'unhealthy' kind. I will give you credit though for the ability to interpret the intention of the quiz, and reply in a manner that yielded a favorable response.

  6. You can please all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot please all the people all the time.
