Public protest of The Bailout

I believe the chant is "You owned it. You broke it. You bought it."

This demonstration involved only a few hundred people, but I've blogged it because it's emblematic of a wider dissatisfaction across the country. Various congresspeople and media reporters are indicating that the public has expressed opposition ranging from 75% - 90%. One congressman said "half the public is against it, the other half hate it."

I think John McCain missed an opportunity to actually be a maverick rather than just talking about being one. He should have come out and said he's against the bailout and all it stands for. Instead he just offers a whimper about how it needs to be done carefully. Obama is even worse, essentially saying "if we're going to bail out Wall Street, we also need to bail out Main Street." Pitiful.
