The photography was excellent, but I was not entirely enamored of the script. It ends up with Callanish on the Isle of Lewis. Not the easiest place to get to, but really spectacular--I am in agreement with the script on that.<br /><br />Here in the US, there are many very interesting Indian mounds such as in Newark, Ohio [http://www.safetgallery.com/MoundPix/MoundFrameset.html] and other monuments such as Mystery Hill in North Salem, New Hampshire [http://planetvermont.com/pvq/v9n1/megaliths.html], that are well worth visiting and exploring.Doc Rockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07493409113882770314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912713243046142041.post-15986702026857765762009-09-10T10:01:04.797-05:002009-09-10T10:01:04.797-05:00@Doc Rock

Doc Rock mentions the ring of Brodgar, and Skara Brae, Maes Howe, Stenness, all on Orkney (off the northernmost tip of Scotland), I can attest to the fact that these places are shivers up the spine sites. There are so many more to see, I'll pass some on my way to work tomorrow morning.soubriquethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01151288534629885195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912713243046142041.post-915497230300910952009-09-09T17:31:57.406-05:002009-09-09T17:31:57.406-05:00Exciting, but my library doesn't have, but I f...Exciting, but my library doesn't have, but I found it for sale online. I have dragged my family to England, Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow and more; Scotland, the Mainland Orkney to see Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe, Stenness, etc.; Lewis and Harris to see Callanish I-IV, etc.; and Ireland to visit Newgrange, Knowth, etc. They are wonderful to see.Doc Rockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07493409113882770314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912713243046142041.post-17579489871818025112009-09-09T15:13:07.657-05:002009-09-09T15:13:07.657-05:00Thanks so much. I've been fascinated with megalithic structures ever since I first saw Stonehenge in some photos my cousin brought back from trekking in Britain in the '70's, then an intro archaeology class back during my undergraduate days got me completely hooked on these things. I didn't know about this series. I'll check it out. As the fellow says at the end of the trailer, they "send shivers up my spine."bunnitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07762412508859521913noreply@blogger.com
