Identifying books from word clouds

I think it must be a sign of aging when you've read the book and can even tell the story, but under time pressure can't remember the title to save your life.  *sigh*

The quiz is here (along with links to other literature quizzes and a variety of other quizzes).  One tip: you can skip over entries and come back to the unanswered ones at the end.

Those with high scores are welcome to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame in the Comments.

  1. 11 out of 25; 70th percentile

A few I knew the book, but couldn't, for the life of me, remember the title!

  2. Got 13 and felt pretty good. I clearly, though, couldn't spell The Iliad.

  3. Note to players: If you want to skip a cloud, press the right arrow. If you press "Give Up", it means you're giving up on the whole game.

BTW, got 16 out of 25 with a couple of lucky wild-ass guesses.

  4. 19 out of 25, 98th! Rather proud of that, although I am a literary type. :)

  5. 14 out of 25, not too bad, since I'm not especially literary. There were three that made me crazy, I recognized the character names or locations, and could get the author, but not the title.

  6. 11/25, not bad considering English is not my native language...

  7. 17/25. Could kick myself for missing The Picture of Dorian Gray! As for the other ones I missed...I..uh, haven't read them.

  8. Only 17 because I'm French and I've only read 2 of those (none of the French ones incidentally!) Sporcle is great, I love the ones on geography and movies.

  9. I got 15 out of 25, and I haven't even read most of those books!

  10. Yeah, I got 11 and had not read ANY of them! I can tell you what they are about, what makes them famous, even quote some passages for you. The internet has ruined me for actually reading an entire book. Not good.
