Ha ha. Teenage humor, really funny. Funny, too, that in England a man was refused an operation on a broken ankle because he was a smoker... When the government controls _your_ Health Care, it's not nearly as funny.
I had to view this on YouTube, since all three blogs I've seen posting the clip seem to have issues with the embedding. A Tea Party plot, perhaps?
At any rate, the first comment on YouTube said it perfectly: "Finest comedian America has produced -- the real Sarah Palin, that is." It IS a joke, right? Right?
@Dan -- I live in a country where the government indeed controls my health care, and I couldn't be more grateful. It's nice to be in a place where women aren't denied coverage of birth control medication because being female is a pre-existing condition. Or where a man diagnosed with cancer suddenly gets dropped by his insurance provider because twelve years ago he lied and checked the "No I do not smoke" box on his insurance application.
Fletcher, it turns out, for ever person complaining about the current American health care system, you can their match unsatisfied with universal, government run health care in any country offering it. Here's a nice clearing house:
So there are sick people who are plenty hurt and plenty unhappy no matter what system is in place. I'd much rather be fighting an insurance company or a doctor or a hospital -- any of which I can take to court or dump, than the government which I can neither dump nor take to court.
Dan, how is Sarah Palin being an idiot, or not, tied to your views on healthcare? Can't you be against both? Healthcare is a complicated issue. Sarah Palin is a simple idiot. Anyone who disagrees can't see straight.
Dan, you meant the Obama "death panel" reference in the first minute of the clip? The only reference to healthcare in the whole thing. Yes, how could anyone mock Palin over starting a lie to scare our elderly? Is that really what you want to defend?
Classic! Thanks for sharing! :D
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWasn't Fey great?! Isn't Palin terrifying?!
