  2. I guess the "joke" of that picture is that the elephant is supposedly "too fat to be pretty" but the elephant doesn't know that it's her fatness that's causing her to be ugly so she has the lady put bows on her tail so she could feel prettier even though she's still eating, still getting fatter thus still being ugly.

At least that's the impression I got,I hope to God I'm wrong though because if it's true, that cartoon's disgusting. Women have the right to feel pretty,to have a healthy self-esteem no matter how "ugly" or "fat" other people think they are.

  3. I know it's a political cartoon, but I just don't get this one. Perhaps I missed something in the news...

  4. It's the New Yorker. I think many of their cartoons are in reality very shallow, but are imbued with a deeper meaning by their readers. Much like a lot of current "art"

  5. I don't believe this cartoon has to do with obesity.

  6. I don't get it either, but at least now I don't feel so stupid!

  7. First you need to figure out who or what is the butt of the joke.

  8. It must be a dig at the Republicans because they are the Elephant party? I'm not entirely sure, maybe it is dogging the Republicans trying to appeal to women or something?

  9. I'm going to be blunt as to my understanding of the joke.

Is just like braiding your pubes isn't going to make your anus anymore attractive similar to a couple bows on the butt of an elephant.

I believe Doc Rock was hinting at the same thing.

    Woosh?
